These books are the first english translation editions to be published, and needed new cover designs that would appeal to a western audience. The minimal design reflects Hoshi’s crisp, no-frills prose, what some call the “haiku of science fiction.” Each design has dual meanings which are revealed after reading the story, reflecting Hoshi’s style of writing.
